What is the commitment for Millburn Soccer Club? MSC provides a Fall and Spring soccer season of 20 games, 10 in the Fall and 10 in the Spring. Teams also participate in 2-3 tournaments a year. Practices are twice per week for 1 1/2 hours. Most teams also have an optional indoor program in the Winter.
How far do we travel for travel soccer? There are 10 games, usually half at home. The away games can be as close as Livingston and as far as West Windsor.
Who are the coaches? MSC hires soccer trainers from several soccer organizations in NJ. Each team also requires a parent team manager, preferably two, to handle scheduling, communication and paperwork and serve on the sideline for games when the trainer is not available.
How much does it cost? MSC fees for 2010 are $925. $325 is due in June to commit a player to the team, and $300 in September and $300 in February. Fees were increased for 2010/2011 from $870 to $925. This was the first increase in several years and was needed due to increases in fees we pay for trainers, tournaments and referees.
Scholorships are available for players where the cost of the program is an issue. Contact millburnsoccer@gmail.com.
Who is eligible to play? MSC is a member of New Jersey Youth Soccer and our teams primarily play in the Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer League. We have teams in U8 through U14 age groups each season. We occasionally have High School age teams in the Spring. Most players are Millburn or Short Hills residents. We have a small number of players from other towns.
