Update in light of several recent developments. First, New Jersey Governor Murphy announced the official closing of all New Jersey schools through the remainder of the academic calendar. Although we are not a school activity, it is likely this will affect possible field availability as we move forward.

Second, the New Jersey travel soccer leagues in which our teams participate have all announced that standard league play will not take place during the Spring season. The leagues are leaving open the possibility of some game activities, i.e., "friendlies," resuming if social distancing restrictions and other precautions are relaxed. New Jersey Youth Soccer (NJYS), which acts as our Club’s sanctioning body, has promised to release more information sometime within the coming weeks. We will let our Members know what the future holds as soon as we do.

Millburn Soccer Club has been offering our current teams the ability to participate in virtual live training with their coaches. This virtual training has allowed our players to continue working towards being out on the field with their teammates again, whether that is this Spring or beyond, and we have received terrific feedback and participation levels that are more than encouraging. Thank you to all our parents that help to make sure your child has the ability to join their team when they can. We will continue to offer this program while it continues to benefit our players.

Although we all want to be practicing and playing with teammates as soon as possible, the safety of our Members, trainers, and families is paramount.  Simply put, we will follow all governmental and medical guidelines concerning the issue and will not reinstitute live team activities until it is safe to do so.

As you know, we have also placed tryouts for the 2020-21 season on hold.  We know that the current COVID-19 situation causes a predicament in regards to tryouts and team placement for what we hope will be a traditional season. Furthermore, we are sensitive to the process of team creation and the typical financial commitment that accompanies team placement. With that being said, the Club hopes to have the ability to start our traditional soccer program in the Fall, and we are planning as such. We are formulating a plan on how to handle next season’s team composition if regular tryouts are unavailable, and promise to release that information as soon as it is finalized.

In the meantime, please sign up for tryouts, if you haven't already, in order to indicate your child's interest for next season.  The tryout charge is for expenses we incur for in-person tryouts. These will be either refunded or credited if we use an alternative method to make teams.  The tryout form can be found at the following link:

Please be sure to continue your diligence with social distancing, hand washing, face covering and positivity. It won’t be long before the kids are back on a field, rink, court, track or venue, and we will be able to enjoy watching them participate. While I miss watching the Mets, Rangers, Jets & Knicks…I miss watching my kids’ games so much more.

Thanks & Stay Safe!

Our program includes boys and girls teams ages U7 through U15 in various leagues such as Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer Association (MNJYSA) & EDP.  Participation is for both Fall and Spring seasons with professional training, league competition, tournament matches, and in some cases NJ State Cup competition. We also offer comprehensive developmental programming for kids of all ages.

MSC devotes its energies towards progressive childhood development promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and teamwork through the enjoyable participation in the sport of soccer. The club does not discriminate and provides financial aid for members unable to afford participation fees. Please note that you must be a resident of Millburn or Short Hills to participate in any MSC program.
